Behind the Scenes at Catena HQ

Meet Joy Pearson, Our New Executive Director of Programs and Engagement!

Joy Pearson, (pictured), will lead our efforts in supporting landowner access to critical technical and financial assistance programs while engaging with partners and stakeholders throughout the West.
In this new role, Joy will oversee the following with Team Catena:
Program Design & Execution: Leads onboarding of client projects, from soil health initiatives to watershed plans, ensuring timelines.
Stakeholder Engagement: Builds partnerships with farmers, agencies, and NGOs—bridging gaps between policy promises and on-the-ground action.
Operational Resilience: Manages critical tools (Google Workspace, project trackers) to keep teams connected.
Advocacy Integration: Turns client struggles into case studies for systemic change, ensuring voices silenced by red tape are amplified.
Joy Person brings a rich background in nonprofit work and community building to Catena Commons. Raised in rural Montana by farmers, Joy developed a strong sense of community and a deep commitment to service early in life. After moving to the Pacific Northwest in 2000, she channeled these values into local non-profit work where she led initiatives to strengthen community ties and support underserved populations.
Joy’s passion for fostering connections is evident not only in her professional work but also in her personal life as a single mother and lifelong musician. Her ability to inspire and empower others makes her a valuable addition to the Catena Commons team. We’re thrilled to welcome Joy and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in our community.
We look forward to sharing more about Joy and her journey to Catena Commons in the coming weeks!
Welcome aboard, Joy! 🚢
